About

L. N. Adams is a New England based object maker, woodworker and educator. They create sculpture as well as functional objects utilizing traditional and contemporary methods of woodworking. Their wood sculptures serve as instruments for reaching into other dimensions, bridging the space between the material world and the unseen.

In their teaching practice Adams aims to create spaces that are safe, encouraging and supportive; giving their students the tools and resources needed for hands-on exploration. Adams is particularly interested in working and collaborating with those who are historically excluded from the field of woodworking: LGBTQ+, BIPOC, and women.

Adams has taught classes in Studio Foundation, the Furniture Certificate Program and Continuing Education at Massachusetts College of Art and Design.

They currently manage the woodshop at Massachusetts College of Art and Design.
